I unfortunately couldn’t make it myself, but a friend attended Jakub Józef Orliński’s concert at Helsinki’s Musiikkitalo on 21 September 2025 and snapped some photos. I’m truly gutted, because he’s a remarkable artist: a Polish countertenor who fuses baroque music, stage presence and breakdance — and yes, the same star who performed at the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony.

The Helsinki evening was part of the #Let’sBaRock programme, in which Orliński performs with pianist–composer Aleksander Dębicz. The concept brings baroque into the present without the dust: powerful singing, energetic showmanship and clever arrangements — exactly the sort of approach that works in the hall and reaches new audiences. The concert took place in the Concert Hall at Musiikkitalo at 7 pm, and this was Orliński’s debut in Helsinki.

After Helsinki, Orliński headed to Vilnius (LVSO Concert Hall, 23 Sept 2025), Stockholm (Konserthuset, 27 Sept 2025) and Luxembourg (Philharmonie, 29 Sept 2025). Later in the year, he performs in Cologne (Kölner Philharmonie, 5 Oct 2025) and London (Wigmore Hall, 10–12 Dec 2025). What a great excuse to pop over to Britain!
