I unfortunately couldn\u2019t make it myself, but a friend attended Jakub J\u00f3zef Orli\u0144ski\u2019s<\/strong> concert at Helsinki\u2019s Musiikkitalo<\/strong> on 21 September 2025<\/strong> and snapped some photos. I\u2019m truly gutted, because he\u2019s a remarkable artist: a Polish countertenor who fuses baroque music, stage presence and breakdance \u2014 and yes, the same star who performed at the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Helsinki evening was part of the #Let\u2019sBaRock<\/strong> programme, in which Orli\u0144ski performs with pianist\u2013composer Aleksander D\u0119bicz<\/strong>. The concept brings baroque into the present without the dust: powerful singing, energetic showmanship and clever arrangements \u2014 exactly the sort of approach that works in the hall and reaches new audiences. The concert took place in the Concert Hall at Musiikkitalo<\/strong> at 7 pm, and this was Orli\u0144ski\u2019s debut in Helsinki<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Helsinki, Orli\u0144ski headed to Vilnius<\/strong> (LVSO Concert Hall, 23 Sept 2025<\/strong>), Stockholm<\/strong> (Konserthuset, 27 Sept 2025<\/strong>) and Luxembourg<\/strong> (Philharmonie, 29 Sept 2025<\/strong>). Later in the year, he performs in Cologne<\/strong> (K\u00f6lner Philharmonie, 5 Oct 2025<\/strong>) and London<\/strong> (Wigmore Hall, 10\u201312 Dec 2025<\/strong>). What a great excuse to pop over to Britain!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
